Look, feel, click. Sometimes it's a matter of recognition, energy or curiosity when I approach someone for a portrait. For me solitude and connection are always a tense combination, in which I try to find a balance. The space between the photographer and person portrayed is intangible and so fascinating to me. That's why I like looking at portraits so much. There's nothing getting ruined by talking. For me it's a sense of scratching the surface by making a portrait and creating space for imagination. Wondering who lives inside and what goes behind the appearance.
